Coral Hotels’s Sustainability Programme

At Coral Hotels we are committed to being more sustainable and we have set out to reduce our carbon footprint.

• The electrical energy of all our hotels comes from 100% renewable sources. We also have photovoltaic panels, biomass plants and solar panels for water heating.
• We have installed water-reducing filters in bathrooms and kitchens, obtaining the Water Efficiency Certification.
• We have created strategic recycling points in our hotels for better waste management, also reducing the number of single-use products.
• We have implemented digital technology to reduce the use of paper.
• We have launched our own Green & Smart sustainability program, including the implementation of organic gardens in our hotels.
• We have opened new Cycling Centres in our hotels to promote sustainable mobility in the the destination.

We are also committed to:
• Hire nearby local suppliers and ensure that all our suppliers are involved in sustainability.
• Develop sustainable projects in collaboration with training centers and municipalities.
• Compliance with the equal employment programme.
• Installation of defibrillators in all hotels, providing training in CPR, basic first aid and authorized use of the DESA.
• Implementation of electric vehicle chargers in hotel car parks.

And as a new challenge:

• Replace the residual uses of diesel for Bio-oil and propane gas for Biomethane
• Participate in projects that promote the circular economy linking the tourism sector with the primary sector consiting in the recycling of organic material from the selective collection at the hotel with the subsequent composting and reincorporation of the nutrients obtained in this process in the soils of the farms of agricultural producers. The sector will be able to source organic produce (mainly fruit and vegetables) from the area, thus closing the cycle and promoting more sustainable tourism.

Following the advice of the United Nations, we adopt these measures in our hotels to offer a sustainable and efficient quality service. As a result, we have obtained the Biosphere and Travelife Gold environmental certification in all our complexes.

At Coral Hotels we are committed to sustainable tourism.
